Edge of Darkness (15)
Loosely based on the 1985 BBC drama of the same name, this emotionally charged thriller follows veteran homicide detective Tom Craven (Mel Gibson), a single father whose only child, 24 year old Emma is killed on the doorstep of his house. Everyone assumes that he was the intended target, but Tom suspects otherwise and embarks on his own personal investigation and discovers some startling truths about his daughter’s secret life. His solitary search for answers leads him into a dangerous world of corporate cover-ups, high-ranking collusion and government endorsed murder, and brings him face to face with a CIA operative (Ray Winstone) whose job is to remove all evidence of the crime.
