The world is left in ruins after a mysterious cataclysm. Through this desolate, grey landscape a father (Viggo Mortensen) and his young son walk alone in the hope of finding sanctuary from the increasingly cold, endless winter, their only belongings the clothes that they wear and the food they can carry. Their journey takes them through barren wastelands ruled by lawless bands of survivors forced into cannibalism and reckless scavengers who attempt to steal the pairs few supplies. As he struggles to hold onto his humanity in a world no longer capable of supporting life, where men are pushed to their limits and beyond, the father realises that his son is his only salvation. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, and written by the author of No Country for Old Men, this epic post-apocalyptic drama imagines a future where humanity has been all but destroyed - but where a father and his son are sustained by love.
