Flamboyant theatrical producer Charles Pentwick is a very lucky man who is always surrounded by gorgeous actresses and attractive chorus girls. His only problem is his suspicious wife.
To escape the constant henpecking, Charles and his friend Bobby Bentley flee to a country cottage. Expecting to be greeted by plain Mrs Harris the housekeeper, they are delighted to discover she has been replaced by her pert and pretty daughter, Molly, who has her eye on Bobby.
When tantalising French starlet Fritzy Villiers also joins them at the cottage and takes a fancy to Charles their wishes seem to have been granted. But when Mrs Pentwick arrives unannounced, she reacts - vehemently. To make things look respectable, Bobby decides to dress-up as the housekeeper but when Charles’ love-sick son arrives followed by Mr Mole, the wonderfully dotty scout-master, events spin deliriously out of control.
The glorious comedy romps through a series of hilarious misunderstandings and mistaken identities, sure to create a spring in your step and a twinkle in your eye.
