Andy Abraham’s History of the Big Band

Andy Abraham large

Andy Abraham and his incredible 13 piece band will transport you back to when every dance hall was filled with the driving pulse of quick rhythm percussion and the cool whirr of the brass section.  An evening full of toe-tapping tunes from the thirties and forties from the most memorable band leaders from the Big Band era.

Andy shot to fame in 2005 following his successful X Factor audition in front of judges Simon Cowell, Sharron Osborne and Louis Walsh. Dubbed ‘The Man of the People’ by the media, X Factor provided the opportunity to really showcase his talent to not only industry professionals but also to the general public, gaining him fans that Andy likes to call his family.

In 2006 and 2007, Andy achieved both platinum and gold discs and enjoyed a sell-out 25 date arena tour culminating in a spectacular performance at the Royal Albert Hall.  In 2008, Andy received the huge honour of being chosen by the public to represent the country in Eurovision. Andy co wrote Even If with Andy Watkins and Paul Wilson which was successful in the UK charts. Andy began his third UK tour straight after Eurovision, which included a staggering 54 dates. Andy invited children from local areas to perform with him on stage giving them the opportunity to perform at a capacity packed venue in front of thousands.
