Florian Uhlig - Piano
Worthing Symphony Orchestra
Conductor: John Gibbons
In true Worthing tradition, an afternoon of foot-tapping delights from the Vienna of the Hapsburg Empire, contrasted against the most popular of all the Mozart piano concertos played by Florian Uhlig.
Florian Uhlig - Since the beginning of his career critics have praised Florian Uhlig's performances as "astonishing" and "exciting". Frequently, he confronts his audience with the unexpected. He improvises and boldly includes his own compositions and arrangements in his recitals. No matter what he plays, Uhlig's sense of sound and his personality are exceptional. The Süddeutsche Zeitung hails him,as an artist who is "musically full of new ideas and impulses" and who finds "new paths within the all too often deplorable conformity of the concert circuit".
"One of the most individual and imaginative young pianists of our time". - Musical Opinion
