The Alassio Concert Orchestra
Conductor: Marcus Martin
With Marilyn Hill Smith (Soprano) and Harry Nicoll (Tenor)

The Alassio orchestral concerts aspire to cross musical boundaries and perform as broad a repertoire as possible to suit wide ranging musical tastes. This programme includes items from the very best of the light music repertoire inlcuding two carol settings by John Rutter, in festive style, as well as pieces by classical composers. By popular request we welcome back soprano Marilyn Hill Smith who will be joined by Scottish tenor Harry Nicoll in solos and duets from the world of opera, operetta and musical comedy.

Soprano Marilyn Hill Smith made her debut with English National Opera. She has also sung with Welsh National Opera, at Covent Garden, with New Sadler's Wells Opera, Scottish Opera, the new D'Oyly Carte and Lyric Opera of Singapore.

Harry Nicoll hails from Inverness in the Scottish Highlands and studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, and now lives in London. He has performed many times with English National Opera. He regularly records for the BBC and is a favourite on Radio 2's " Friday Night is Music Night".
