Sussex International Piano Competition

We are thrilled to welcome the first Sussex International Piano Competition to Worthing. The competition, run under the auspices of the Worthing Symphony Orchestra and with the support of Bluthner Piano Centre, will bring many of the world’s finest young piano virtuosi to Worthing. The competitors will perform before a distinguished international panel to win a top prize of £5000 along with concerto and recital opportunities around the world. There are a range of other prizes including the British Music Prize, the Franz Liszt Prize, the Beethoven Prize and an Audience Prize.

The semi-finals will take place on Friday 9th April in the Assembly Hall with the three selected finalists going forward to the Grand Final on Sunday 11th April. Here they will each perform a piano concerto in concert with the Worthing Symphony Orchestra conducted by John Gibbons.

afternoon session starts at 2.00 pm
evening session starts at 6.00 pm

Tickets: £10.00. Students and under 16's: £5.00

Come and hear six of the finest pianists in the world battle it out in six 45 minute piano recitals for a place in the Grand Final. Only three competitors will be selected for the final on Sunday.
